Great news! 🎉 Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has officially confirmed that it will accept up to 10,000 complete applications for the Parents and Grandparents Program this year.
Invitations to apply start going out on July 28, 2025, and will continue for about two weeks.
If you submitted an Interest to Sponsor form back in 2020 and haven’t received an invitation yet, now is the time to:
✅ Check the same email address you used in 2020
✅ Look in your spam/junk folder just in case
Important: IRCC is still selecting sponsors from the 2020 pool, so no new intake is opening this year.
If you receive an invitation, you’ll be able to submit your full application online through the Permanent Residence Portal or the Representative Permanent Residence Portal.
Don’t get discouraged if you’re not selected this year! Your parents or grandparents may still be eligible for a Super Visa, which allows:
✨ Multiple entries for up to 10 years
✨ Stays of up to 5 years at a time
✨ A possible 2-year extension without leaving Canada
